The Women of Distinction 2016 Gala in Guelph was a night of fantastic celebration and inspiration all around. So many women took to the stage to be recognized for their achievements in their respective categories.
As I got the opportunity to say on stage while presenting the Arts & Culture award, it was my honour to be a part of it by capturing each of these interviews of the nominees and presenting them at the gala.

Merc Media shot almost 10 hours of interview footage with the 56 nominees to produce the videos that played at the gala. So much of that had to be cut out in order to make the series of 2-minute videos. It was equally a daunting challenge to know what to edit out...as well it was heartbreaking because so much of it deserved to be shared.
After going through all of the inspirational stories and wise words that each nominee had to share, we knew that we just had to find a way to share it all!

The day has at last arrived. The first glimpse of The Demolisher.
It feels like forever has gone by since the crew of The Demolisher was together, spending 12-18 hours per day filming intense scenes with the Arri Alexa guerilla style last spring.
No sleep. Caffeine-fueled. Perpetually-exhausted. Mind-numbingly awesome. All of these describe the experience. In fact I hardly remember from my time on set what scenes I saw filmed.

Merc Media worked as 2nd AC for the film, alongside DoP Martin Buzora, and was also asked to provide some visual effects compositing for one of the film's most shocking scenes. Wait till you see it.
